Kite Festival in Kish Island Iran

It was immediately a day after Holi celebration, rajesh an internationally acclaimed kiter and founder of kite life foundation reached Kish Island, situated in Hormozgān Province off the southern coast of Iran in the Persian Gulf . Owing to its free trade zone status, the island is touted as a consumer's paradise, with numerous malls, shopping centres, tourist attractions, and resort hotels. It has an estimated population of 30000 residents and it is said  about 1.2 million visitors annually. For Indians to enter Kish Island there is no visa required. When we had Kite festival which was an interesting area of activity. Afganies,  as volunteers came together to support and their volunteering efforts kept our kite aloft and sometime when the strong wind unstabilises the giant kites it was something like an herculean task. We thank them. The wind speed was relatively high in this season but then we controlled the kites. This time of the season is a good climate condition.

Kiters from Turkey, Malaysia and Dubai other than the presence of India was the professional kite flying teams.  Different Kites in the shape of giant Tiger, Mantaray, Dragon, Octupus, Ring, AngryMan, Box Kites, Pralaya Kite, Nettipattam, Aerobic kites were flown on all days.

It was also first time, the gaint bubbles, an unusual visual fiesta that is made out of a special soluton introduced by Rajesh in the field. It was an added attraction and laughter for the people who tried the big wands to release bubbles and children run to touch and it bursts. People flocked in large number and participated in the event from far and wide with kids and families gathered around.

Rajesh has also took in kite baggage a specially designed no-spar (stick) based kites for the kids for the kish island festival. It was a playful kites for kids and family and  flown effortlessly brought smile to them and it really entertained them.

Beach Fest in Puducherry. 21-25 Feb 2019

Three beaches named Arekkamedu on the costal line of Veerapattinam, Dubryapet named as Pondy Marina and with back water at Chinna Veerapattinam are developed with a vision on the lines of an international attraction, a greatly worked by the present director of tourism and the team and as the ministry who supported it.  Funds are utilized to retain its glory yet on a concept that developed on the lines of responsible tourism, i am referring about the chinna veerapattinam, a cluster of fishermen community who lives nearby will become the major constituents and they become stake holders. A society is developed to control it.  New year parties are conducted in the location. Beaches like Arekkamedu ( Veerapattinam) has a biggest canvas for the purpose of Kite Festival, followed by Pondy Marina, conservatively has less space but good place for kiters. We have been flying on an invite by the tourism dept. Good wind stabilised theyyam, the inflatable kept aloft for more than 4 hours. Rokkakku by Soumya and friends like Vivek and Johnson followed the kite flying. it was like an outing to me, as nothing other than kiting was undertaken. We always kept the healthy note not to dehydrate ourselves. Pondy witness the tourism flow on the weekends from nearby states. its nice to undrive.
