Kollam Kite Fest - 24, Nov 2024

Kollam Kite Club, a part of KiteLife Foundation, has organized a kite-making workshop followed by a kite festival on the serene golden beach at Kollam. Thousands of people flocked in to witness the event, which was inaugurated by District Collector Devidasan IAS at 4 pm today. The workshop, held at Kollam Lion's Club hall, was inaugurated by sitting MLA Mukesh, who is also an actor in Malayalam movies.

Kite Life Foundation Founder, Shri Rajesh Nair, along with Director Ms. Aparna Nair, taught kite-making techniques to the participants. According to the participants, they said the class was nice, and they learned to make a kite that is foldable, easy to carry, and it was their first time. Participants came from nearby schools and educational institutions.

Mr. Mukesh shared his nostalgic memories of kite making and flying during childhood, highlighting how it remained a cherished childhood passion. He stated that even the nuances of kite making are crucial to making a perfectly flying kite. He flew the kite introduced in the session and couldn't resist flying it before the gathering, who cheered him on.

Mr. Vadakkevila Sashi, Kollam kite Club President affirms how effectively a kite can develop a child to use his brain using the talent and skill. Mr. Sashi also stressed about a plan of getting an international kite festival organized in Kollam, next year.

Dignitaries on the dais have spoken on the occasion.

KiteLife Foundation extends its gratitude to Mr. Suvarnakumar, Mr. Prabhodh Kandanchira, Mr. Kureepuzha Vijayan, Mr P Pillai, Mr. OB Rajeah, Mr. M C Pillai, Mr T G Subhash, Mr Shibu Rawthur, Mr. Arif, Mr. Anil Mynagapally, Ms. Bindhu Paravoor, Ms. Sheeba Thampy and many other members who have come to support the event and make it a grandeur.  The whole team deserves a good round of applause.

Wishes to all the participants who have come to attend the Kitekraft, a unique lite making workshop and flown the kites they made effortlessly on the beach.

The wind velocity was not very welcome though.

Theyyam, pilot, butterfly, arch kites were flown in along with 100 kites which were made by the participants was an attraction.

"A heartfelt thank you to the media representatives, especially Asianet, Kairali, and Media One, for their overwhelming support and coverage. We'd also like to extend our sincere gratitude to vloggers like Dilip, who traveled all the way from Trichy, and a few vloggers who captured the event. Although I couldn't catch all their names, I appreciate their efforts. Special thanks to those who shared beautiful photos from the crowd when I requested them. I remember Mr. Ajilal attending with his family and kids, and another talented Mr. V Sujith representing 'Just Buy Cycles' and its RM being, one of the as sponsor along with few who snapped pictures at just the right moment.

Thank you all so much!"❤️

We really hope you have enjoyed the event. See you soon in another event. 🙏.
