Kite Festival in Kish Island Iran

It was immediately a day after Holi celebration, rajesh an internationally acclaimed kiter and founder of kite life foundation reached Kish Island, situated in Hormozgān Province off the southern coast of Iran in the Persian Gulf . Owing to its free trade zone status, the island is touted as a consumer's paradise, with numerous malls, shopping centres, tourist attractions, and resort hotels. It has an estimated population of 30000 residents and it is said  about 1.2 million visitors annually. For Indians to enter Kish Island there is no visa required. The best route is fly from Dubai which is hardly a 40 minute flight.

He was in kish island to be part of a  kite festival where it was organised for the promotion of popular Mica Group, rajesh says.
Kish island has exotic locations and pristine beaches with white sands. Kish island a major getaway for families who flock in large numbers. Various sporting activities in the likes of parasailing, kite surfing, water skiing, snorkelling, jet skiing and recent kite flying was some thing until then never heard or seen has given a new interest, especially with the giant kites launching and flying were the new attraction for the visitors. It amused the people. The skyline was dotted with kites of all colours and hues.

Kish island has Indians working in malls and other organisations include in oil rigs in large numbers on the deep sea of Persian gulf. There are skilled labourers and engineers from India working in the construction site of huge malls. Besides there are people from Afghanistan, Baluchistan and countries nearby. When we had Kite festival which was an interesting area of activity. Afganies,  as volunteers came together to support and their volunteering efforts kept our kite aloft and sometime when the strong wind unstabilises the giant kites it was something like an herculean task. We thank them. The wind speed was relatively high in this season but then we controlled the kites. This time of the season is a good climate condition.

Kiters from Turkey, Malaysia and Dubai other than the presence of India was the professional kite flying teams.  Different Kites in the shape of giant Tiger, Mantaray, Dragon, Octupus, Ring, AngryMan, Box Kites, Pralaya Kite, Nettipattam, Aerobic kites were flown on all days.

It was also first time, the gaint bubbles, an unusual visual fiesta that is made out of a special soluton introduced by Rajesh in the field. It was an added attraction and laughter for the people who tried the big wands to release bubbles and children run to touch and it bursts. People flocked in large number and participated in the event from far and wide with kids and families gathered around. 

Rajesh has also took in kite baggage a specially designed no-spar (stick) based kites for the kids for the kish island festival. It was a playful kites for kids and family and  flown effortlessly brought smile to them and it really entertained them. 
In addition to this, there was DJ Padero on the console in the beach to offer some good numbers and foot tapping music to the people.

Kish island also gave kiters an opportunity to explore new tourist locations like Kariz, an underground city which was covered 50 sqkm radius. This place has a heritage of 2000 years. Besides, Greek Ship and Harireh ancient city that one can explore when in Kish Island.
