The International Kite Festival of Ahmedabad, Gujarat 8-14 Jan 2023

The International Kite Flying Festival in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is a feast for the busy-looking population, allowing them to marvel. For those who are learning, this is a brand-new experience! For those who keep watching it, it never gets old.

Taking the 32-year-old organisers' choice of nations as an example! The Guinness record is the year's standout moment. Kite fliers from 50 nations smashed the record by launching their kites simultaneously in the sky while being supported by 68 other nations. Also feeling a part of it is this modest man. But a certificate to take in hand, a recognition to hang on the wall at home! Looking forward to it.

Anyway, let it run its own course!

Let’s talk about the other views in the field.

Lunch served on the field for the kiters.

Regarding those who attended this festival for the first time! For them, this is a novel scenario. Those that travelled were wholly content and wished to return!

UK citizens Dave and Claire Hardwick! Their wind bow is one of my favourites (arch type when ut flows and then it get a lift). People will like a huge arch field that demonstrates where each hold stops and controls it in the defiant wind. When the wind blows on the normally windless Sabarmati coast, this kind of trick is sure to keep the spectators interested!

This year's bubble show is missing! In fact, it seemed like it should have been this year, in the place of lack of wind. At a light pressure, hundreds of bubbles would burst out of the wand, captivating the audience! For sure!

Therefore, it's a miss this year! Fred Taylor, my Guru from Canada who taught me, is the reason I consistently participate in this activity. We've been quietly performing this activity in the field for some time. Since Fred wasn't present this year, I also decided to forego this activity. My Kitekraft with children always includes a bubble display. They just adore it.

It’s possible that some people were taken aback by the Costa Flykites indoor kite launch. This glider type is a little impulsive with our technique, but one can safely fly the kite in the sky while falling in love with a sweetheart by controlling it with their own hands inside of a building or indoor stadium (please notice that this is inside). Love in the air and a gentle touch! This kite was flown by me, Bob (UK), who was also present, and Costa, who recorded it on camera.

During supper, I just mentioned it. Immediately after, Bob ran by and said he would soon arrive. He soon returned, opened the cylinder-shaped package in his hand, and took the iFlight. He appears to be flying! He is depicted in that way. Although a little glider of that type had a fault in one of its wingtips, it was nevertheless believed to be flying well and cheering up the occasion. Costa pulled out his handmade indoor kite as soon as he noticed this. The party then got going. I also head in that direction, as shown in the images. Bob, hey! Your slippers are missing! I resounded! This is the circumstance. People intended to forget!.

Yes, let's get back on the field! There are newcomers from the GCC, as I already said. getting acquainted. There are only a few kits, and they are all made in China!

Pics appearing shortly! 😆

The largest adventure in its display in any field is Ring, a colossal bol-type.

Do we have a mad excitement in the crowd that organises or drags people around like it's a sport? will be informed. Take this enormous and flee, even if there is little or no wind! It works like a charm.

But when it's windy, every kiters' want to fly their kites. Not only are big and tiny kites unable to fly, when Ring takes place! That is true. In no country in the world is this practised. In a designated area for "ring and ball," it will fly up on its own depending on the wind's direction and will lie down if there is no breeze. Not the kite flyers, but the kite deserves the show!

A discussion on small kites was also held.

The new kites flown this year by Master crafter Abdul Rauf of Train Kite were also new. Abdul, better known by his nickname Chacha, is an expert at creating train kites out of Mylar. Nowhere else in the world can you find this idea. The one line it flies on is an advantage! And Deepak flies it. Under the auspices of the Golden Kite Club. Dilip Kapadia, a well-known figure in this industry, is the club's founder. With his kites, Abdul will spend six months in France.

Gadis Vdayathi came with his sister Nussa from Singapore with her drum kite.

Kap Jaza team from Slovenia,Thomas Abdilla from Malta, Marcel Buri & Wife from Switzerland, Pramesh & Team from Nepal, Jan from France, Team from Spain, Robert from Canada, Adrien with her daughter from Mexico, Manuel with his wife from Chile, Suraiyya with her husband from Zimbabwe, Two couple, Peter and his wife from the Netherlands and Martean with his wife, Andres, Jana with a friend from Estonia, Antonio Lino from Portugal, Donitas from Belarus, Fat Boys team from Denmark, Lalo from Argentina, Trent & Sharat from Australia,Lucca from Italy, Mohd FadzilAli from Malaysia, Eli from Indonesia with hubby Bagush, Juan, Satyo and team from Jakarta, Snjezana & ZmsjSki from Croatia, Amel Amira & team from Tunisia,.Shani & Sameera from Srilanka, the Vietnam team and the Russian team, the list is endless. I might miss many kiters as the team assigned to have flying in different locations and would have travelled and not came in contact. 🤔

Then there are other flyers from our country, Rao from Karnataka with his son, KiteLife Foundation,  Shahir & team from Kerala, few new entries from Kerala by Sreejith and Anup, Sandesh from Belgaum, Punit & team from Karnataka, again! Ahmedabad's own Bhavana Shailesh & family, followed by giant kite maker Gopal, Mehul again from Ahmedabad, Nitesh & Vicky team from Surat, Nilesh & Bhavesh from Mumbai, Mahesh & Mehul from Rajkot, and so on. Many lined the field with their giant and small kites. Volunteers like Dharmesh Makhwana and slew of friends are also to be remembered here!

More pics are arriving 😆

The occasion is fantastic. The audience waved and shook hands as they heard the names of the countries being played over the loudspeakers in the background as the kiters lined up in a parade and waved in front of the guests in a half circle in front of the main stage. There is noise, my friend, and it makes every feel very happy.

Joining with other nations in a much-loved, universally fascinating flying object synced in a beat of music and harmony is a true nation's spirit, profoundly unified for a cause! Indian culture should live on! Continuity in diversity India United. Aha! Mera Barath Mahan! "Jai hind,"
