I'm referring to the first-ever National Kite Competition & Celebration, which will take place from December 23–25, 2022, in Calicut at the picturesque beach there.
In collaboration with the KiteLife Foundation, the National Sports Mission will organise the event.
Best Innovative Kite, Best Message Kite, and Best Large Kite are the three categories for this competition.
In order to compete for the titles of Best Innovative Kiter, Best Message Kiter, and Best Large Kiter, kiters from various states of India have confirmed their participation and will arrive on December 22. The winners will receive medals and certificates in addition to the cash prizes of $15,000, $10,000, and $5,000
The ranking criteria are already set for the catagories.
Sketches for the kite project will be sent by kiters along with their registration. Measuring tails are never regarded as large kites, and copies of foreign kites are not permitted in the competition. No matter what category the kites fall under, stability, creativity, and originality are the main judging factors.
Kiters from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Kolkata, and Puducherry have already submitted their entries.
For the purpose of conducting the competition, a reception committee was formed with 18 members from various walks of life, chaired by Nedumankav Gopalakrishnan, National Chairman of National Sports Mission.
Other dignitaries came as Patrons of the event include sitting MP M K Raghavan, MLA Thottathil Raveendran & Disrict Sports Council President O Rajagopal.
Watch this space🤟.
